DRI Backup Buddy is made by Abhay Phalswal, India ("we"). This policy explains what personal data is involved when you visit this website, buy the app, and use it.
Your backups stay on your computer
The app reads phone backups on your own computer. Your messages, photos, contacts, call history, notes and files are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Decrypted copies the app needs while a backup is open are kept in a private temporary folder on your computer and deleted when you close the backup or the app. Backup passwords and WhatsApp keys you type are used only on your computer and are not saved or sent anywhere.
The licence check
To confirm your licence, the app sends your licence key and a name for your computer (its Windows computer name plus a short code that tells your computers apart) to Dodo Payments' licence service: once when you activate, then about once a day. Nothing else is sent. The licence is saved on your computer, sealed so it only works there.
Update checks
About once a day the app asks this website whether a newer version exists. That's an ordinary web request (like opening a page), so our hosting provider sees your IP address and the app's version; nothing about you or your backups is sent. Updates are only installed when you choose to.
When you buy
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. They collect your name, email address, billing details and payment information to process the purchase, send your licence key and receipt, and meet tax and fraud-prevention obligations. Their privacy policy applies to that. We receive your name, email address, what you bought and when, which we use to support you and manage your licence. We never see your full card details.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and loads nothing from other websites. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the site.
Emails to us
If you email us, we use your email address and what you write only to reply and help you.
How long we keep data
We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence is active and as long as tax and accounting rules require. Support emails are kept while they're needed to help you.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email us and we'll respond promptly. Deleting your data may mean we can no longer verify or restore your licence.
Children
The app and this website are not meant for children under 18.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes; the date at the top shows the latest version.
